Planning and research part 1...

I think the key to making a succesful music video is to know your audience.The typical person that listens to the reggae/dancehall genre is aged between 16-25 years.we know this due to the fact that other music video's in the market witch the same genre appeal to that age range.we also established that there is no specific nationality that listens to the raggae genre which makes the market for such a video alot broader.

while planning the music video we looked at a range of music videos to see what sort of conventions and themes are used. we looked at artists such as vybes kartel, movado and sean paul. what i found interesting in most of these videos was the lack of effects and the exsesive use of quick edits and quik camera movements to complement the fast paced music.we used youtube alot when reseaching the videos, it helped to give me an idea into what sort of shots would be needed as well as the angles. 

after alot of thinking we came to the conclusion that we will have the video in black and white which certain parts of the misc on scene in colour, we believe this would be a very creative technique to use and would appeal to the audiance targeted.
